Update Premier League Standings: Liverpool was held by Man City, so he lost the first place to Leicester while MU increased one level after the victory over Everton.
Premier League Standings
Round 8 of the Premier League 2020/21 is an extremely attractive round when there are many notable matches. Everton is in dispute in the top Premier League Standings but lost 1-3 to MU, Liverpool drew Man City with a score of 1-1, Arsenal suddenly lost 0-3 to Aston Villa while Tottenham, Chelsea or Leicester all won.
With these results, the Premier League Standings 2020/21 has changed. With three points won against Wolves, Leicester takes the lead with 18 points after 8 games. This is an extremely surprising thing for many as Brendan Rodgers has lost many pillars due to injury.
Harry Kane’s goal in the last minutes helped Tottenham take a step up to second place on the rankings. Jose Mourinho’s teachers and students got 17 points, which is just 1 point behind the current top team. Meanwhile, defending champions Liverpool have fallen to third place. The draw against Man City made Jurgen Klopp’s teachers and students 17 points, but less than the difference compared to Tottenham.
Southampton, who temporarily took the lead after Saturday, has slipped to fourth place while Chelsea is also one step down from yesterday at 15 points. Aston Villa has risen to sixth place after a surprise victory at Emirates Stadium, with points equal to Chelsea but underperformance.
In the other direction, the three big men of English football, Man City, Arsenal and MU, are still in the bottom half of the current Premier League Standings. Man City retained 10th place compared to the round before earning only 1 point while Arsenal dropped two ranks to 11th, equal to the score with the Etihad home team but less than the difference. MU increased one level and occupied 14th place with 10 points after 7 matches.
Out of these 3 teams, two Manchester teams still have a match. This means that they can make it up to the top half of the standings if they win a match.
